“Not too late to do the right thing”: MPP Sattler calls for urgent investment in Ontario Colleges and Universities

QUEEN’S PARK – MPP Peggy Sattler, NDP critic for Colleges and Universities, released the following statement after Sheridan college was forced to make drastic program cuts due in part to a critical lack of provincial funding:

“When Ford ignored his own expert panel and refused to make serious investments in our colleges and universities earlier this year, this is exactly what we feared would happen.

Our world-class universities and colleges are the cornerstone of so many of our communities, providing education, employment, and opportunity for countless people. We need to protect them, not starve them of resources.

It’s not too late for Ford to do the right thing and prevent this from happening to more schools. He needs to get serious, take action, and preserve our post-secondary institutions.”
